The best material for dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a highly effective procedure for removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells. The Dermaplane will also remove the layer of vellous hair that often covers the face, commonly known as "peach fuzz" - which trap dirt and oil. The treatment gives the skin a smoother appearance. The removal of the outer layer of skin cells also allows for better penetration and absorption of both pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical products. These skin cells are no longer a protectant, but are a barrier for other procedures and/or products.
Using a sharp bladed instrument to scrape off dead skin is not a “new” idea. Our history has demonstrated this procedure as fas back as the Sumerians. Using a device designed specifically for this process and having a sterile, disposable use instrument devised by an aesthetician for aestheticians.
A highly specialized disposable instrument (one time use) is used to “refinish” the skin’s top layers through a method of controlled scraping. This procedure is safely performed using a sterile blade and handles made exclusively for Dermaplaning. It is safely performed holding the blade at a 45 degree angle and stroked against the skin, just like shaving. However, the skin care specialist is holding the skin taught while stroking gently across the area.
Please DO NOT USE a standard surgical scalpel when performing this procedure. The Dermablade is different and you may seriously harm your patient/client!
This treatment is extremely safe when used by a professionally trained skin care specialist. There is no more risk than a man shaving his face with a straight edge. It is non-invasive, quick and easy!
Clients complaining of dull, dry, congested, or dehydrated skin are excellent canidates. Typically these issues
are caused by a surface barrier of dead skin cells that are preventing topical products from penetrating too deeply into the skin. Also, impurities from within are trapped and underlying cells are unable to surface. Dermaplaing can remove this barrier and allow the client's skin to respond to skin products.
Dermaplaing is an excellent treatment for any clients currently using Retin-A, Retinols, Glycolic acid, high strengths of Salicycli acids or other aggresive topical treatments. Dermaplaing will accelerate the sloughing off of dead, peeling skin and is a great alternative to waxing. Many aggressive products cause the skin to be more vulnerable to damage and waxing may cause skin damage.
It is not recommended to dermaplane someone who is highly sensitive, has pustular and oozing skin or active rosacea. Typically, diabetic or auto-immune clients are should not be treated due to poor healing times
There are a few individuals that the dermaplaning should not be used on:
* Active acne or acne prone individuals
* Thick dark hair (Terminal Hair)
* Individual going through hormonal
changes
* Any patient with open sores or wounds
* Any inflammatory skin condition
The founder of ESTEtx was trained in Dermaplaning by a Plastic Surgeon in a medical facility. She was frustrated with the inability to purchase this product. She also noticed how hard it was to get adequate training in dermaplaning. She also became aware of many aestheticians using tools that are dangerous to their customers. ESTEtx was created to meet all of these needs and provide a place to reorder quickly & efficiently.

It is safely performed by using a sterile surgical Dermaplane. The dermaplane is held against the skin at a 45degree angle and stroked along the skin, just like shaving. However, the technician is stroking the instrument while holding the skin taut.
When performed by a professionally trained technician, the Dermaplaning is extremely safe. There are no more risks from Dermaplaning to the skin than if a man were to shave his face.
No, this is physiologically impossible. Once the hair is cut, it will maintain a blunt edge, however, this blunt edge will not physiologically alter the hair it self. There are two types of hair that grow on our bodies:
Yes, it can cause the skin to bleed. The treatment is being performed with a very sharp instrument. However, the incidence of cutting into the skin is slim. A similar situation can be compared when you are shaving. While cuts are possible, it rarely happens. Dermaplaning the skin is identical. If it is performed by a trained technician, the chance of a cut is very slim!
Dermaplaning the skin is performed on the face only. You should not dermaplane the nose, eye lids, neck or chest. Sometimes, technicians who are still learning practice on arms and legs as the skin is tougher in these areas. For clients, it is recommended for a technician to only dermaplane the face.
Dermaplaning can be performed every 3 to 4 weeks. Treating the skin in this manner actually removes about 2 to 3 weeks worth of dead skin cells. The technician should allow the skin to complete it's normal skin cycle of approximately 30 days. It is not recommended to perform this treatment prior.
Yes. It is perfectly safe to dermaplane the skin along with a peel.
Occasionally the skin will peel after a dermaplaning. If the procedure is done at a 2 week interval, the client's skin's growth cycle will not have had a chance to complete. At this time, you will be blading skin that does not need it and peeling may occur.
In the event that you are dermaplaing the skin with a chemical peel, the client may experience some peeling. We recommend not over-exfoliating the skin or using too strong a peel with dermaplaning.
All skin types may benefit from dermaplaning. It is not recommended to dermaplane a client who my have acne or an excessive production of sebaceous gland oils. Sebaceous glands excrete oil along the vellous hair. If the hair is removed, the oils may cause bacterial growth that can stimulate acne outbreaks.
